Rangers 1 - 0 Celtic
Celtic slumped to another defeat, this time 1 - 0 away to Rangers. The game started at a hectic pace as Fortune raced down the wing, cut a ball across the box which Keane fired goal ward from the edge of the box but it was saved. Minutes later Boruc had to rush off his line to narrow the angles as the Celtic defence were caught flat. Rangers had a goal correctly chopped off for hand ball and Boruc produced a fine save when one on one. Keane had another shot saved and Fortune should have done better when he wriggled free in the box and fired wide when he only had the goal keeper to beat.
Rangers looked a little bit sharper than Celtic in the second half and then it happened, the referee rode to Rangers' rescue when he sent Brown off. He and the Rangers player tangled, instigated by the Rangers player, but it was Brown who was sent off. No surprise there then. Celtic offered little in attack and Boruc was forced to make a couple of brilliant saves. However, Rangers grabbed the winner in injury time.
Yet another 'honest mistake' by a referee? Yeah, right. That aside, Celtic made few chances and didn't push enough for the opening goal. McGeady was his usual useless self, regardless of the claim that he was ill, Brown was his usual useless self, although he was hard done by with the sending off, and Mowbray's substitutions were a little strange.
